SUMMARY

Create a short URL within the Browser, just right click over the link you want to shorten or anywhere in the page to generate a short URL of the current site location. The last ten short URLs are accessible from the extension icon, left click on it to show the list. The service is free, you don't need to create an account.

The XRef.ws - URL Shortener extension was removed from the Chrome Web Store on 2023-08-09. At the time of removal, it had 16 users. The initial version was launched on 2021-09-15.

HOW TO INSTALL XRef.ws - URL Shortener FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download XRef.ws - URL Shortener CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
