SUMMARY

This extension replaces Chrome’s new tab page with one that attempts to be similar to the default, minus all the junk that Google keeps adding that makes the page worse. More specifically, the page includes bookmarks and shortcuts, but there’s no enormous Google logo, redundant search field, Google account header, network requests that spam the JavaScript console with warnings, or “Create theme with AI” promotions. History: - 0.4: Improve keyboard navigation, particularly for menus. - 0.3: Increase padding on top of shortcut tiles. - 0.2: Fix submenus no longer opening in Chrome 125. - 0.1: Initial release.

The latest version of Streamlined New Tab Page is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 4 active users. The initial version was launched on 2024-05-31.

HOW TO INSTALL Streamlined New Tab Page FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Streamlined New Tab Page CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
