Handheld Simulator

SUMMARY

This extension simulates a barcode scanner, but instead of scanning you have just to type the value in the popup text field and the scan action will set the given value to the focused input in the page. So the behavior is similar to scanning a barcode with a real device. You can open the scanning popup by clicking on the extension icon, or using the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+U (or ⌘+Shift+U on Mac). You can also change this shortcut by navigating to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your browser, locate the Handheld Simulator extension, and set a new shortcut.

The latest version of Handheld Simulator is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 1,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2021-01-11.

HOW TO INSTALL Handheld Simulator FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Handheld Simulator CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
