SUMMARY

This is an open-source extension that changes homepage of Youtube (only search bar) and drops recommendations/comments from other pages. Extension requires access to Youtube website to change its outlook. Extension icon opens a popup with an option to show/hide the comments section of a video (to check timestamps in comments, for example). In the latest version, an option to temporarily disable the extension was added. You can hover over the YouTube logo to access the navigation menu – playlists, liked videos, watch history, etc. Enjoy <3 Important: the extension doesn't collect any data about Youtube usage.

The latest version of Focused Youtube is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 6,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2019-01-06.

HOW TO INSTALL Focused Youtube FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Focused Youtube CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
