SUMMARY

Sidenote is an extension that allows for peer communication on any site of the internet! We work with your browser to add a comment section to the side of the screen that is unique to every page you visit. This provides features like a place to ask questions about the page, discover popular pages, and be notified of activity on pages you are interested in. Does this require an account? Do you have to? No. Should you? Yes! Sidenote is completely free to use without an account. Once installing the extension, you will be able to view all available notes on their respective pages. In order to participate in the community by reacting and adding notes yourself, you will need to create an account on https://sidenoteapp.com. How do I use it? Once installed, you are going to want to "pin" the extension to your toolbar. This can be done by clicking the puzzle piece in the top right of the screen. The drop down will show all of your extensions, including Sidenote! Click the thumb-tack icon and that will keep it visible in your toolbar without having to open that extension menu. From there, just click on the Sidenote icon whenever you want to view or add notes!

The latest version of Sidenote is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 60 active users. The initial version was launched on 2024-05-22.

HOW TO INSTALL Sidenote FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Sidenote CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
